1988 Nimble N24 Tropical

General condition and any additional information

I purchased this boat mid last year from a old fellow that owned it for only three years. He let it set outside during that time. It was neglected for that time but was an easier cleanup than expected. Im sure it was well treated with many seasons stored inside by the previous owner. I have done most of the cleanup work. It is nearly ready to go as you can see from the pictures. Very little work remaining. Note: Running rigging is incomplete. It has a good main halyard and some random lines. Standing rigging appears to be complete and I have replaced all of the turnbuckles on standing rigging. Original interior cushions and covers are in remarkable condition. Mast, mizzen, boom and mizzen boom are in great shape. All sails are in real nice shape. (Hank on jib.) It does not have the electrical breaker box. I have traced the wiring to the running lights and all is good. I doubt if the depth sounder and knot meter work. It has a new battery. No motor is included. No porta pot.

Reason for selling? I have just had a fairly serious back surgery, currently recovering and have no plans of continuing sailing … DANG!

Improvements to the hull, deck, rigging, engine, or interior

All new turnbuckles on standing rigging. (Hayn Marine.) Most teak stripped, rubrail teak, eyebrow, mizzen sprit (?) fresh oiled. Polished, two coats of wax on deck and hull. New bottom paint at waterline and slightly below. Have paint to complete. Some new paint on interior bunks. Have paint to complete. New lights, forward, stern and masthead. Original split solid teak doors have been stripped, ready for finishing. New carpet on new bunks and keel support on trailer. Many new u-bolts. New winch post. New submersible LED lights and complete wiring.
