2022 Sailing Anarchy

Por Favor is for sale – Canada W coast (Nanaimo, BC).

I have owned Por Favor for 3.5 summers, purchased in the Spring of 2022. Previous owner put some amazing mileage on her including 3 Pacific Cup races, 2 Van Isle 360s, and an R2AK (she shared in the steak knives that first year, 2015). I have mostly only cruised and day-sailed her, but kept her well-maintained.

She is an excellent R2AK / WA360 machine for those who would like a near ready-to-go ride. I have very much enjoyed my stewardship time and have maintained her with pride of ownership.

She is well set-up for cruising with a hardly-used head (porta-pottie), sink & freshwater bladder tank, gimballed alcohol stove, v-berth and main bunk cushions (and lee cloth), BBQ on the push pit, and a furling cruising headsail. There are also Port and Starboard pipe berths aft, which accommodate storage for sails and other gear. In addition, I installed a step at the base of the transom to vertically mount a small rowboat to the push-pit when in cruising mode. She also comes with a fantastic African Queen / shade sail for those hot summer days.

The rig is two-spreader, and the rudder is after-market high aspect ratio. Tiller, and cabin top hand rails have been beautifully varnished. Interior ceiling was recently painted white. Bottom is VC Offshore non-ablative paint. Primary winches are new in 2022, Harken two-speed self-tailing. All winches (3 cabin top and 2 primaries) were serviced in 2024.

Power is a 10 HP Honda Four Stroke outboard, which pushes the boat at 6 kts. Included is a collar around the leg (also have a spare collar if ever motor is replaced) to fair the hull when the motor is deployed, and a plug to fair the hull under the motor when racing.

There is a 110 W solar panel mounted on the push-pit that (in addition to the motor alternator), charges the single 12 V battery. Electrical systems include interior LED lights, LED running and steaming lights, basic sailing instruments, a ship’s VHF radio, and the Simrad tiller Autopilot.

In terms of additional equipment, she is a lifting keel version, and comes with a dual axle trailer, electric keel lifting winch, tie down straps, etc for trailering. Trailer was shipped to Hawaii each of the Pacific Cup programs for the return shipment. She was set up for offshore racing to Hawaii, so also has a spare rudder (and permanent transom mounting bracket), a 4-man life raft, external mainsail halyard turning sheave at the top of the rig (in case the main halyard fails), and various other offshore bits and pieces.
