Go to Sailing Texas classifieds for current sailboats for sale Catalina 30, 1985 sailboat for sale This was my father’s boat who recently passed. He was the second owner and bought it in 1987. It’s been on Lake Washington the entire time except for maybe 5 trips to the islands. Very little use but will need its nooks and crannies cleaned. Otherwise it’s a great boat. The good: 560 hours on the Universal 3 cylinder diesel engine. Starts right up and runs smooth. No smoke on startup or running. Headsails are pristine. They have been kept in dry heated storage at my parents house. We didn’t sail much. There is a North mylar genoa and a couple other dacron headsails, I’ll inventory later this week. The main is on the boom and probably needs cleaning, but also hasn’t had a lot of use. Has a dodger. This was also kept at my parents house and is in good shape. All the cushions except the v-birth cushions are in excellent shape. There was a foam topper on the v-birth that apparently held moisture and destroyed the fabric on the v-birth cushions. No deck core rot or bulkhead rot. Two new batteries and a new 20 amp charger. It is in a private marina and is likely that moorage can be transferred to a new owner.

The less good:

Could use a thorough cleaning. There’s one ding-ding on the hull that will need a gel coat repair, shown in photo. Rest of hull shows no dings or damage. Switches on DC panel are fussy so must be suffering corrosion. I’ll be fixing this this week. Not everyone will be down with the alcohol stove/oven. But they are simple and safe. No roller furling. Toilet will need attention. Hasn’t been used in 20 years so it’ll need a kit or replacement. The factory hull striping is yellow-gold. My dad didn’t like it so he used striping tape to cover it over with blue. Worked really well for 25 years but is now peeling off. $14,000 obo. Located in Seattle, WA
