Mac 19 power sail boat for sale! Ready for the water! I bought this boat to downsize from a MacGregor 26M, which was too much boat for just one person. The Mac 19 is still very roomy with lots of storage space and has room to sleep for 5. It also has a queen size berth under the cockpit! Very fast, easy to rig, easy to launch, easy to sail and very light (about 1,600 lbs including trailer). It has a swing keel, so it can be beached (9” draft)!
Comes with a 40hp Honda 4 stroke outboard in excellent condition, 6 gallon fuel tank, new bimini with slide track and cover, stereo with cockpit speakers, mast raising gin pole, all interior and cockpit cushions, 2 sets of rudders (original and longer), electric bilge pump, cup holder rod holders and more. Main and jib sails like new and very crisp with no stains, patches rips or repairs. The boat has new bottom paint and hasn’t been on the water for more than a week at a time. It has always been cleaned and the engine flushed after every use. Also comes with a galvanized trailer (2” hitch) that is in excellent shape with new bunks and hardware, has no issues and is ready for the road! You can tow the boat with a small 4 cylinder vehicle!
See the boat in action here during a 3 day trip to 10,000 Islands: https://youtu.be/UEn9QNg7R0k

This boat is a floating condo with lots of room, like an RV! Take the whole family sailing, the beach, tubing, fishing, etc. Or leave the sailing rig at home (or inside the boat!) to use it as a power boat and motor down the river! Take everything home for $8,500 cash. Price is low, cash and very firm! You will not find a better, nicer one for less! Title in hand. Cash or wire transfer only - no checks or trades! Call (no texts!) 8l3 4four4 8585 when you’re ready to come pick it up. Text messages will be ignored. Emails go directly to my junk folder. Calling is the only way to reach me. The boat is in Fort Myers, between Naples and Sarasota.
The theoretical maximum speed that a displacement hull can move efficiently through the water is determined by it's waterline length and displacement. It may be unable to reach this speed if the boat is underpowered or heavily loaded, though it may exceed this speed given enough power. Read more.
Classic hull speed formula:
Hull Speed = 1.34 x √LWL
A more accurate formula devised by Dave Gerr in The Propeller Handbook replaces the Speed/Length ratio constant of 1.34 with a calculation based on the Displacement/Length ratio.
Max Speed/Length ratio = 8.26 ÷ Displacement/Length ratio.311
Hull Speed = Max Speed/Length ratio x √LWL
A measure of the power of the sails relative to the weight of the boat. The higher the number, the higher the performance, but the harder the boat will be to handle. This ratio is a "non-dimensional" value that facilitates comparisons between boats of different types and sizes. Read more.
SA/D = SA ÷ (D ÷ 64)2/3
A measure of the stability of a boat's hull that suggests how well a monohull will stand up to its sails. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize.
Ballast / Displacement * 100
A measure of the weight of the boat relative to it's length at the waterline. The higher a boat’s D/L ratio, the more easily it will carry a load and the more comfortable its motion will be. The lower a boat's ratio is, the less power it takes to drive the boat to its nominal hull speed or beyond. Read more.
D/L = (D ÷ 2240) ÷ (0.01 x LWL)³
This ratio assess how quickly and abruptly a boat’s hull reacts to waves in a significant seaway, these being the elements of a boat’s motion most likely to cause seasickness. Read more.
Comfort ratio = D ÷ (.65 x (.7 LWL + .3 LOA) x Beam1.33)
This formula attempts to indicate whether a given boat might be too wide and light to readily right itself after being overturned in extreme conditions. Read more.
CSV = Beam ÷ ³√(D / 64)
One of this builders line of ‘Sail/Power Hybrids’.
Some early MACGREGOR 19’s had a fractional rig.
