Seller's Description

SV Faith is a Florida based 2019 Lagoon 42 catamaran for sale by owner. This almost new, 2019 3 cabin Lagoon 42 Owner’s Version Fresh from the factory in Sables D’Olonnes and is just waiting for its next owner! One of the Most Desirable Cruising Catamarans on the Market Today!

The Luxurious Owner’s Version features the entire starboard hull dedicated to the private master stateroom. Aft, the island bed is large and low for easy access, and the large hull windows let the captain check out the surroundings without getting up. Amidships, a desk and storage create a well-managed area. The head forward takes up a third of the hull, with a huge shower compartment that will remind folks of home. In total the boat has 3 heads and full Air Conditioning.

All lines run back to the helm, making single-handing possible and double-handing an absolute breeze. Lagoon has made subtle changes to the rig on this version. The mast has been moved slightly aft, closer to the boat’s center of gravity, allowing for a more stable ride, and allowing for larger headsails and a smaller mainsail. This boat comes with a full set of sails including a Code Zero (a monster light-wind sail). She also has an ergonomic helm station which offers good communication with both the cockpit and saloon, as well as easier access to the boom. A composite Bimini with a sliding panel provides a good view of the sails, with a closure panel for helming station safety when under way.

The U-shaped galley is split, with a three-burner Eno stove, large single sink, oven, and microwave to starboard and front-loading refrigerator and top-loading freezer to port. The sink has both fresh water and salt water faucets. The large L-shaped settee, cushioned bench, and dining table provide plenty of room for guests, but when not entertaining, the dining table can be lowered to form a large lounge seating area for relaxing, reading, or napping. Tons of storage in the settee, bench, and saloon floor allow you to stock up on favorite food and beverage items for cruising between islands or passages. Chart table with VHF, 12” B&G chart plotter and Fusion music/dvd player is positioned within the saloon for easy passage planning over your morning coffee.

She has 4 large 320 watt solar panels mounted on custom stainless steel arch. Plus 4, 110 watt flexible panels mounted on the roof. For a total of 1680 watts of solar electricity wired to Lithium Ion Batteries. A Victron battery charger and battery monitor is installed along with a Water maker, Washer/Dryer combo and a 13500 watt Cummings diesel generator. Asymmetrical Spinnaker Scretcher is included and she has been upgraded to included Yanmar 57HP Engines x 2 each with only 400 hours and full B&G Navigation Electronics.

At the helm, enjoy 360 degrees of visibility and easy communication to the cockpit and saloon. There is a ladder at the helm with direct access to the coach roof. A sliding panel allows for good views of the sails as well as protection for the elements when closed.

The cockpit has plenty of cozy lounging space and room for eight at the table. A convenient beverage refrigerator is located in the cockpit and the Cockpit entry doors open wide to expand the living area. An efficient U-shape galley is just to starboard as you enter the saloon. The location allows for ease of serving as well as socializing with guests. The L-shaped dinette has comfortable, oversize cushions with an extra bench and storage.

Continuing starboard, you will find the luxurious owner’s cabin with an island style bed. There is plenty of counter space in the passageway including a vanity, hanging closet, and washer. The spacious master bathroom has a large integrated sink and massive shower. To port, are two beautiful en suite cabins. The forward cabin has a 3/4 island bed and wet head. The aft cabin has a full island-style bed and separate shower.

The package is complete and ready to sail away for faraway ports!

Calculations

Hull Speed
10.7 kn
Classic: 8.58 kn

Hull Speed

The theoretical maximum speed that a displacement hull can move efficiently through the water is determined by it's waterline length and displacement. It may be unable to reach this speed if the boat is underpowered or heavily loaded, though it may exceed this speed given enough power. Read more.

Formula

Classic hull speed formula:

Hull Speed = 1.34 x √LWL

A more accurate formula devised by Dave Gerr in The Propeller Handbook replaces the Speed/Length ratio constant of 1.34 with a calculation based on the Displacement/Length ratio.

Max Speed/Length ratio = 8.26 ÷ Displacement/Length ratio.311
Hull Speed = Max Speed/Length ratio x √LWL

10.68 knots
Classic formula: 8.58 knots
Sail Area/Displacement
17.4
16-20: good performance

Sail Area / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the power of the sails relative to the weight of the boat. The higher the number, the higher the performance, but the harder the boat will be to handle. This ratio is a "non-dimensional" value that facilitates comparisons between boats of different types and sizes. Read more.

Formula

SA/D = SA ÷ (D ÷ 64)2/3

  • SA: Sail area in square feet, derived by adding the mainsail area to 100% of the foretriangle area (the lateral area above the deck between the mast and the forestay).
  • D: Displacement in pounds.
17.44
<16: under powered
16-20: good performance
>20: high performance
Ballast/Displacement
?

Ballast / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the stability of a boat's hull that suggests how well a monohull will stand up to its sails. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize.

Formula

Ballast / Displacement * 100

?
<40: less stiff, less powerful
>40: stiffer, more powerful
Displacement/Length
171.3
100-200: light

Displacement / Length Ratio

A measure of the weight of the boat relative to it's length at the waterline. The higher a boat’s D/L ratio, the more easily it will carry a load and the more comfortable its motion will be. The lower a boat's ratio is, the less power it takes to drive the boat to its nominal hull speed or beyond. Read more.

Formula

D/L = (D ÷ 2240) ÷ (0.01 x LWL)³

  • D: Displacement of the boat in pounds.
  • LWL: Waterline length in feet
171.26
<100: ultralight
100-200: light
200-300: moderate
300-400: heavy
>400: very heavy
Comfort Ratio
13.3
<20: lightweight racing boat

Comfort Ratio

This ratio assess how quickly and abruptly a boat’s hull reacts to waves in a significant seaway, these being the elements of a boat’s motion most likely to cause seasickness. Read more.

Formula

Comfort ratio = D ÷ (.65 x (.7 LWL + .3 LOA) x Beam1.33)

  • D: Displacement of the boat in pounds
  • LWL: Waterline length in feet
  • LOA: Length overall in feet
  • Beam: Width of boat at the widest point in feet
13.31
<20: lightweight racing boat
20-30: coastal cruiser
30-40: moderate bluewater cruising boat
40-50: heavy bluewater boat
>50: extremely heavy bluewater boat
Capsize Screening
3.4
>2.0: better suited for coastal cruising

Capsize Screening Formula

This formula attempts to indicate whether a given boat might be too wide and light to readily right itself after being overturned in extreme conditions. Read more.

Formula

CSV = Beam ÷ ³√(D / 64)

  • Beam: Width of boat at the widest point in feet
  • D: Displacement of the boat in pounds
3.39
<2: better suited for ocean passages
>2: better suited for coastal cruising
