Fully Loaded for Liveaboard, and Ready to Set Sail!
Boat is currently in Martinique & Registered in France (no taxes)
We put all our hearts and time into this solid boat, and it saddens us to part with it, but proximity to our family and new work is calling us back to the land for a long time. This boat is now to be a great sailer and a highly reliable boat with its tough and thick hull. It is very easy to handle and is extra safe with a center cockpit. It has lots and lots of storage space, which is very convenient! It sleeps 6 comfortably.
We installed 2 x Lewmar48/2-speed self-tailing winches for the headsails. Hullpaint is brand new form last december. We used AWLGRIP 2000. Boat has been extended in the back to accomodate going up and down the boat with a fibreglass construction that is integrally part of the boat.
ENGINE: PERKINS 4108 / 40HP We always took great care of it. Starts right away and runs smoothly. 5800h. (rebuilt at 4000h); New injection pump(2019); New exhaust system (2019); New diesel pump (2019); New raw waterpump bearing (2018); J-PROP propeller; Carbon shaft seal;

INDEPENDANT CHARGING SYSTEM GOAL ZÉRO system; Seperate battery and solar panel (105W) with integrated inverter; We use that system to independantly charge our 2 laptos, phones, tablets, etc;
SAILS Mainsail, Furling Genoa PRO FURL 40 (bearing is a lil’ old), Trinquette & Foc on removeable inner stay, which is new of 2019, Mizzen sail new of 2017;

SAFETY Viking liferaft or 6 persons (needs revison); Emergency beacon KANNAD; IRRIDIUM sat phone; 4 inflattable PFD with harness; All flares, though some may need to be changed to be up to date; Sea anchor;
OTHER EQUIPMENT Westmarine dinghy - 4 persons; Outboard - Honda 2.3hp (2018) USA warranty is 5 years; Easy lift system at the back of the boat;
Mast ladder (2017) Barracuda sewing machine for sails and canvas (2018); Rubber bumper. new, to be installed; WIFI system with antenna booster (Coasta Marine) new 2018;
GALLEY customized with drawers and lots of storage; Oven - ENO; New stainless steel sink (neuf 2018); Fridge 12 volts (4 amp/h); Cooler;
TOILET/SHOWER Inside toilet RM69, Gray water tank (mandatory in the states and other countries ) Seperate shower system is outside – A USB charge pump you immerse in a bucket linked to a shower head. We charge it every month and a half. Very convenient and saves lots of water and electricity. The pipes for the inner shower are still in place, we just don’t use them. There is a bilge pump in the toilet for that purpose.
We reinforced the chainplates with epoxy and portions of the roof (which is Balsa). We also fixed two areas that were humid when we boat the boat. We rebuilt the kitchen which was old and yucky on the purchase, so all new wood.
Things to be done: Mainly this is esthetics. Revarnishing the wood and repainting parts inside, as relining the bulkheads in the 2 cabins. The dodger is getting pretty old too. I mean, it’s still fine to sail with, just not pretty.
The theoretical maximum speed that a displacement hull can move efficiently through the water is determined by it's waterline length and displacement. It may be unable to reach this speed if the boat is underpowered or heavily loaded, though it may exceed this speed given enough power. Read more.
Classic hull speed formula:
Hull Speed = 1.34 x √LWL
A more accurate formula devised by Dave Gerr in The Propeller Handbook replaces the Speed/Length ratio constant of 1.34 with a calculation based on the Displacement/Length ratio.
Max Speed/Length ratio = 8.26 ÷ Displacement/Length ratio.311
Hull Speed = Max Speed/Length ratio x √LWL
A measure of the power of the sails relative to the weight of the boat. The higher the number, the higher the performance, but the harder the boat will be to handle. This ratio is a "non-dimensional" value that facilitates comparisons between boats of different types and sizes. Read more.
SA/D = SA ÷ (D ÷ 64)2/3
A measure of the stability of a boat's hull that suggests how well a monohull will stand up to its sails. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize.
Ballast / Displacement * 100
A measure of the weight of the boat relative to it's length at the waterline. The higher a boat’s D/L ratio, the more easily it will carry a load and the more comfortable its motion will be. The lower a boat's ratio is, the less power it takes to drive the boat to its nominal hull speed or beyond. Read more.
D/L = (D ÷ 2240) ÷ (0.01 x LWL)³
This ratio assess how quickly and abruptly a boat’s hull reacts to waves in a significant seaway, these being the elements of a boat’s motion most likely to cause seasickness. Read more.
Comfort ratio = D ÷ (.65 x (.7 LWL + .3 LOA) x Beam1.33)
This formula attempts to indicate whether a given boat might be too wide and light to readily right itself after being overturned in extreme conditions. Read more.
CSV = Beam ÷ ³√(D / 64)
