The owner bought this boat in 1975
Standard features
Oday Widgeon Sailboat 1975 Gold Medal Fleet 12 loa; 5 beam; draft 3.5 with centerboard down Mainsail and Jib Sail original
I am the original owner of this sailboat, purchased in 1975 from Russell Marine in Madison, Wisconsin. It has been well taken care of and is good condition. Designed for 2 to 3 people it is an excellent little sailboat.
As part of Odays 50th anniversary they produced the Gold Medal Fleet with gold anodized mast and boom. Still shiny, captain!
The sails were always dried, folded and bagged. The original sail number for this boat was 3833 but the numbers long ago fell off. Id ironed them on rather than sewn. Dumb move, I know. Now.
Because of the 12 length of the boat it did not need to be registered in Wisconsin but I voluntarily registered it for most of its life anyway.
This is a great little boat for beginners or experienced sailors.
Improvements to the hull, deck, rigging, engine, or interior
Ive added shroud covers and spreader covers, mast telltale; hiking stick extender, and replaced the hull hatch covers. Ive improved the mainsail fairlead control from Odays orignal awkward system.
