1979 Endeavor E32 for sale. This boat is ready to sail, but it needs some TLC. We have done some ourselves, and would like to continue, but health issues have made it necessary to sell. For 5 years we sailed it on Pueblo Reservoir in Colorado. “Swell” is a lot of fun; it sails well and handles great. You might be asking how you would get it from our place to yours? That’s easy, because it comes with a custom built trailer, and not just any. This trailer was built for this particular boat and it tows very nicely.
Equipment: ENGINE: Universal Diesel Engine Model: M3-20B. The motor runs very well. We installed a new exhaust line (pipe/hose) from the motor all the way to the back. We also installed new stainless steel nipples and elbow connections to the engine. We rebuilt the raw water pump and filled the system with Anti-freeze for protection through the winter months. We removed the original toilet because we have always used a port-a-potty. We do still have the original toilet and it will be included in case you want to use that instead - (it will need some service first.)
HULL: Fiberglass. We began using Jamestown Distributors bottom paint. This has been a harder, longer lasting bottom paint that has worked exceptionally well for us.
STANDING RIGGING: In good shape.
SAILS: The mainsail is in good shape, the jib needs replacing. The Boat comes with a roller furling: Schaefer System 2100 Jib Reefing and Furling System. Today’s price on that alone is $4,280.99. *** We have several other sails from previous boats that we will include at no additional cost, (including one spinnaker.) You can use them as-is, or modify/combine them to suit your needs.
ANCHOR: HI-BLADE 35 (CQR TYPE) Okay, so I am not an anchor aficionado, but this is one tough anchor! In a particularly hard blow, when we were anchored out on the lake, we were blown back and forth, while a large cabin cruiser power boat had to try and reset their anchor numerous times. They were unsuccessful; ours never budged.
WINDLASS: Manual 2 speed.
BIMINI: Aluminum with fabric cover in good shape.
LED lights on the spreader bars. These are very bright, and light up the entire deck and surrounding water.
BBQ: Force 10 barbeque, rail mount.
STEERING: Edson Wheel Steering.
PORTLIGHTS: 10 opening portlights. New screens/seals 5 years ago.
HATCHES: 1 over V-berth, 1 in Main salon.
Hanging locker with attached drawers.
FRESH WATER: Fresh water tank under the V-berth - 65 gallon
HEAD: Port-a-Potty, sink, faucet, storage compartments. Manual pump toilet is included but not installed. (We took that out)
BLACK WATER: Original tank - 15 Gallons
GALLEY: Icebox. This was originally cooled by a refrigeration system which is not currently working. That system could be replaced if desired. We always used ice blocks which worked fine for our needs.
Fold down dining table with 2 sections big enough to seat 4 (it’s very cozy)
Rail mount swim ladder included.
TRAILER: Custom built- 20,000 LB, 3 axle Pull-behind. “SAILUN” 14 Ply Tires with less than 1000 miles of the tread used: ST235/85/R16 Colorado license plate. SPECIAL EQUIPMENT ON TRAILER: Tongue Wheel for launch and haul-out. ** This is a special feature. When launching, a separate wheel, right behind the tongue gets lowered, enabling the front of the trailer to roll freely forward and back, independent of the tow vehicle. There are also 4 each, 2”x2”x 1/4” steel tubes that hook together to make a 40’ tongue extension, allowing the boat to be launched and hauled out easier. Steps above the tongue also allow access to the bow. ** Axle bearings, races, and seals have all been inspected, cleaned, repacked, and/or replaced as necessary after each launch and haul-out. The tongue wheel acts as a spare tire if needed.
*** If you need help, I can work with you on obtaining D.O.T. oversize permits.
The theoretical maximum speed that a displacement hull can move efficiently through the water is determined by it's waterline length and displacement. It may be unable to reach this speed if the boat is underpowered or heavily loaded, though it may exceed this speed given enough power. Read more.
Classic hull speed formula:
Hull Speed = 1.34 x √LWL
A more accurate formula devised by Dave Gerr in The Propeller Handbook replaces the Speed/Length ratio constant of 1.34 with a calculation based on the Displacement/Length ratio.
Max Speed/Length ratio = 8.26 ÷ Displacement/Length ratio.311
Hull Speed = Max Speed/Length ratio x √LWL
A measure of the power of the sails relative to the weight of the boat. The higher the number, the higher the performance, but the harder the boat will be to handle. This ratio is a "non-dimensional" value that facilitates comparisons between boats of different types and sizes. Read more.
SA/D = SA ÷ (D ÷ 64)2/3
A measure of the stability of a boat's hull that suggests how well a monohull will stand up to its sails. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize.
Ballast / Displacement * 100
A measure of the weight of the boat relative to it's length at the waterline. The higher a boat’s D/L ratio, the more easily it will carry a load and the more comfortable its motion will be. The lower a boat's ratio is, the less power it takes to drive the boat to its nominal hull speed or beyond. Read more.
D/L = (D ÷ 2240) ÷ (0.01 x LWL)³
This ratio assess how quickly and abruptly a boat’s hull reacts to waves in a significant seaway, these being the elements of a boat’s motion most likely to cause seasickness. Read more.
Comfort ratio = D ÷ (.65 x (.7 LWL + .3 LOA) x Beam1.33)
This formula attempts to indicate whether a given boat might be too wide and light to readily right itself after being overturned in extreme conditions. Read more.
CSV = Beam ÷ ³√(D / 64)
