Paul Elvström was probably the most successful racing sailor of all time. He was the winner of 4 Olympic gold medals and numerous world championships in a variety of one-design classes. In addition to writing a number of books on the subject of sailboat racing, he founded his own sail loft, invented the Elvström bailer, and designed a number of offshore racing and cruising craft.(some with Jan Kjærulff)
