This head-turning, classic sailboat designed by legendary American yacht designer Nathanael Herreshoff is a pure delight to own and sail. Lovingly and skillfully rebuilt in 2008 with all new teak seats, combings and toe rails. This daysailer moves beautifully in light air while easily handling strong blustery winds and choppy seas thanks to her 750 lb. lead keel. Generous cockpit comfortably fits 4 adults while boat can also be easily single-handed with her self-tending jib. This gorgeous classic boat is a perennial favorite throughout New England and a delightful and rare sight in the Chesapeake Bay. Ask about slip and storage options in beautiful sailing area just south of Annapolis, Maryland.

Notes

Originally designed and built by Nat Herreshoff of wood in 1914 and called the HERRESHOFF BULL’S EYE. In 1938 she was modified with an above transom tiller, and named The FISHERS ISLAND SOUND BULL’S EYE.
In 1947 the rights to the design were purchased by Cape Cod Shipbuilding Co.
In 1949 a fiberglass version of the FISHERS ISLAND SOUND BULL’S EYE was introduced (overseen by Sidney Herreshoff) that also featured a cuddy cabin and modern marconi rig on an aluminum spar. This became the THE CAPE COD BULL’S EYE. (pictured here)
Throughout the evolution of different decks and rigs, the hull design has remained unchanged from the original first built at Herreshoff Mfg. Co.
