Seller's Description

These boats were sailed in the 1964 Olympics as a 5.5 meter. This boat needs a rebuild as the interior cabin rotted away. She is a pointing machine.

Equipment: The hull and rigging are intact. The prev. owner poured a great deal of money into the rig. She has new sails w/ full batten main. Brand new in box roller furler. Loaded with race gear. Lots of go fast stuff. She sits on a trailer that is really well built. Trailer can handle 12,000 lbs. Electric brakes. 2-5/16 hitch. Good tires. I have $4k in the trailer.

Notes

The COLUMBIA SABRE hull is from a mold taken off an Int. 5.5 meter class racer (circa 1958). Columbia first built a small number of these as one-design racers. (The international 5.5 class ruled that they did not conform to their specifications and were banned from class events.) Later Columbia created this version with a trunk cabin and some cruising amenities which is called the SABRE. A similar model (SCORPION 32) was also built by Ericson Yachts, probably from this same mold.
