I have been the very satisfied sole owner of my 1984 documented Herreshoff Cat Ketch 31, NOMAD. If you are not familiar with this design, please FIRST read the excellent comprehensive review from Practical Sailor (search PS reviews under “ herreshoff-cat-ketch-31 “). Although the review emphasizes the simplicity and excellent sailing qualities of the design, I would feature her fine sea-keeping ability and ease of single handing (no winches, main and mizzen sheets easily handled while seated at the tiller). And, she has a unique tabernacle system for the freestanding masts that can be operated at no cost by a single person dockside or at anchor. Her interior is the optional two cabin layout in tropical oak, Tabebuia rosea. (see interior photos and cabin layout plan)
