Seller's Description

The boat’s first owner raced her (including Swiftsure and the Vic-Maui races). He built her with two spinnaker halyards, two jib halyards, 12 winches, rod rigging, hydraulic vang and backstay. Her sail plan included 18 bags of sails, including 4 spinnakers and matching bloopers. The second owner raced and cruised the San Juan Islands, the Gulf Islands, Desolation Sound and the Broughtons. Among other upgrades, he added an electric windlass, a Rocna anchor with 300 feet of chain, an electric winch with leads from the port jib halyard, the main halyard, and the main sheet. Instruments were upgraded: a Garmin chart plotter, GPS, AIS, auto pilot, radar, and an ultrasonic speed and temperature sensor. A larger engine was added to counter windless days. The cabin was made more comfortable with the addition of a 2000-watt inverter and a hydronic diesel heater. The ice box was converted to a Frigoboat keel-cooled refrigerator, and a hot water heater and Force 10 propane stove made galley work easier. The sail plan was changed to a roller-furling jib, with one light-wind spinnaker. The boat has always been professionally maintained and upgraded to whatever updated code recommended. All equipment and system upgrades were completed using top of the line brands and specifications, which led a marine surveyor to recently express his appreciation for the high-quality systems by stating, This is one of the lucky ones (older boats) as the owner continuously upgrades to state-of-the-art sailing and electronic systems.
